Handbook on national legislation and practices concerning the posting of third-country nationals

The Handbook provides a structured overview of the national legislation, rules, and practices applicable to the posting of workers who are third-country nationals (TCNs) within the European Union (EU).

Developed by the European Labour Authority (ELA) within the framework of the Mutual Learning and Understanding Programme on the posting of workers (POSTING 360 programme), the Handbook brings together country-specific information for all EU 27 Member States.

It supports national authorities in the effective application and enforcement of EU posting of workers rules, and facilitates administrative cooperation and information exchange between Member States.

All country fiches have been reviewed and validated by the competent authorities of the Member States concerned. The information contained reflects the situation at the time of its last update. It is intended for guidance purposes only and does not constitute a legally binding or exhaustive source of information.

Latest update: May 2026. Fiches are updated annually.
